About
When I was a toddler, the only way to shut me up when I was crying was to plonk me in front of the television and make me watch ads. Not cartoons. Not Bollywood films with dizzyingly fast costume changes to keep my underdeveloped brain hooked. Ads. So, my dad painstakingly recorded commercials onto a VHS tape (yes, I’m that many years old), which he’d pop into a VCR whenever his sanity was being threatened. A few years later, the only way to get me to drink milk was to tell me that the Onida Devil (yes, I really am THAT many years old) would take me away if I made a fuss. So, it’s safe to say that advertising has had a bit of an influence on me. And when at the age of 20 I finally joined advertising, it came as a surprise to no one - least of all my parents who’d fallen back on it on more than one occasion for their peace of mind.
It’s now been over 17 years since I first joined the industry and even today, I’m as fascinated by ads as when I was three years old. Only instead of the Onida Devil, my worst fears are losing a pitch, an unpaid invoice, and a disrespectful client - not always in that order.
Reasons To Work With Me
Having spent the first seven years of my career on the agency side and nine on the brand side,
I bring the right mix of right-brained + left-brained thinking to the table. While the agency side taught me my craft, the brand side taught me how to think solutions - not just ads. Brands like Swiggy and Blissclub also offered me front row seats to how businesses are built, which taught me to empathise with clients. (At least the nice ones.)
As an independent Creative, I bring agency-like finesse and craft with the nimbleness only a
one-woman-army can afford. At the same time, I have a strong network of other Creatives
for projects that need more hands and brains than just mine.
I have a very fragile ego. Which means I care very deeply about what people think of my work. This in turn means that I work really hard to make sure my work falls squarely on the spectrum of good to great - even on my worst days.
